If not familiar with the Madison area, please make yourself aware of Highway 51 and Highway 151 when visiting the Madison area. They both run North/South and actually do intersect. There is extreme high probability that you will be using both at sometime during your visit. It has burned some out of town people traveling to and from the area courses in the past. A minor detail here, but a simple heads up for you as I'm sure you would rather be on time for your next round than be late.

Hope everyone enjoys their visit to the Madison area and has/takes time to get out and explore if not for just a little time. For example, the Madison Radicals Ultimate (July 10 vs Indianapolis AlleyCats Sunday Noon) matches are FUN and cost effective for a few hours of great entertainment. Not to mention the Radicals are kicking some butt again this year. Amazing how that scheduled game day/time lines up with AM Worlds schedule...hmmmmmm....coincidence? :-) Breese Stevens Field, the Radicals home field, is only a "few" blocks from the Capital Square and downtown State Street thus offering you a better reason to stay out and explore. No, I'm not on the city council. Just a Madisonian wanting everyone to enjoy my home town. See ya out there.

You got it Craig. The Madison lakes are right there also. UW Madison Memorial Union Terrace is a awesome place to go hang out, have some drinks, food, people watch, etc. Need not be a student or alumni. It's right on Lake Mendota. Live music also offered although I cannot speak to music during tourney dates and school not in session without some research. Don't just be where your at...go see where your at.

if you have to travel on 12/18, a.k.a. the beltline, east or west between 7-8:30 AM or 4-6 PM for a destination with a defined arrival time play it safe and give your self an at least an extra half hour. That's Madison's version of rush hour times. Plus, accidents do happen. Hint, Hint if you have to be at Elver by 8:00 AM on any given day.

Hoping I'm not stepping on any sponsors toe's here. With that stated, when I travel I know I'm looking for the local places with the best selection and prices. Well, prices anyway. :-) If you need adult beverages the place with the most selection and by far best prices in Madison is Woodman's Liquor. Woodman's are also grocery stores (liquor and grocery locations are side by side) if you need some hotel room munchies, fuel during the rounds, and such. Theses Madison store locations are very close to Hiestand (corner of Stoughton Rd./Hwy 51 and Milwaukee St) and Elver (corner of Gammon Rd and Watts Rd).
