So this is my first tournament and I signed up for Advanced. Now that I see it's from the blue tees I'm not so sure about Advanced as I've never shot from blues because I don't have the distance and they look super intimidating.. What do most guys shoot from the whites at deer lakes? May 27, 2016

David; I should let a local answer that, but if I am not mistaken (and this could depend on pin placement as well), I believe the whites are about 950 rated for par 66. Again, that may be based on the toughest pin positions, so assuming only some holes are in C position, maybe 920 rated. If you are unfamiliar with PDGA ratings, an advanced player is typically considered 930 or above, though anyone can join of course. Assuming 930 rating, from the white tees, I would think you should be shooting about -1 from whites for advanced.

Hey Dave, In the league this past week in the current pin set, par from the whites was rated at 915. Im 932 rated and i shoot about 6-8 under from the whites. Blues will play about 5-6 strokes harder. If you're uncomfortable playing blues i can move you down to Intermediate but i dont think that the blues are terribly more difficult.
David Wray May 27, 2016OK I'll stay in Advanced and I guess we will see how it shakes out!
David Wray May 27, 2016We played last Sunday and I shot -2 from whites so I should be OK
