Eastside Ace Run League   March 29, 2016 at 3:16am

Welcome back

My apologies for the delay. My schedule is packed to the brim. As long as it is not raining we will play tomorrow. This year we will be having a $25 Membership fee that will include a disc and a shirt, along with a membership to the Super Pool. We can discuss other options for the membership fees like getting a basket or other swag. I also will be bringing last year's trophies for the winners. This year the top 8 will be drawing chips to pick teams, just like how we draw for teams each week. The regular ace pool will be capped at $750 paying out 50% $375. The Super Pool will not be capped with a 75% payout. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

6:30pm

Jay B   March 29, 2016 at 10:15am

Only thing i disagree with is the top 8 format, i say it should either be the way it has been for the last 3 yrs and allow the top players to be rewarded with the chance of a higher scoring partner or just singles and eliminate the chance of any super teams

PLASTIC FOR SALE   March 29, 2016 at 10:58am

Actually the format been like that since 2011.

PLASTIC FOR SALE   March 29, 2016 at 11:01am

That's when Ken Mango started this league.

Jay B   March 29, 2016 at 11:19am

And 1st and 2nd place points for a team doesnt mean its a guaranteed 1st place win in the playoffs, wallo and i took last a couple yrs ago

Christian Sersha   March 29, 2016 at 11:59am

So all together what's it going to cost to play

Jay B   March 29, 2016 at 12:05pm

Same as always except theres a one time optional membership of $25

Nicholas Cooke   March 29, 2016 at 12:47pm

Well for the playoffs it will be doubles, and random draw for teams or like NHL brackets 1+8 2+7 3+6 4+5.

Michael Wood   March 29, 2016 at 1:04pm

I've always liked singles for the playoffs. You play doubles all year. Kinda cool to see how you do on your own. If not I like your NHL brackets idea

Nicholas Cooke   March 29, 2016 at 2:16pm

I do not want to change too much, but I also like the NHL bracket style. I will get everyone's opinion and go from there.

PLASTIC FOR SALE   March 29, 2016 at 2:17pm

Let's say this year's playoff pot gets to a 1000. Divide that thousand over 24 holes. That makes it around $41 a hole. Nice payout per hole. And make it singles for the top 8.

Jeff Griffiths   March 29, 2016 at 2:22pm

I like singles for the top 8. I hate being the one to mess someones whole season up that they invested a ton of money in.. On the other hand its kinda the luck of the draw. Either way....

PLASTIC FOR SALE   March 29, 2016 at 2:42pm

Skins is the game.

Jay B   March 29, 2016 at 3:13pm

Hockey style bracket isnt much of a fair change, the whole philosophy of the top 8 has always been to reward the players with more points, now youre forcing the highest scoring season player with the lowest and the the middle team become the power team, its the same dilema with monday night putting league when higher b pooler are partnered with lower a poolers

J Moyer S.D.G.C.   March 30, 2016 at 8:20am

Most points is rewarded with big trophy and title, I thought! Every body deserves a fair shot at that pot.

Jay B   March 30, 2016 at 8:45am

youre getting confused i think, were talking about playoffs here not prizes

Jay B   March 30, 2016 at 8:50am

The point of the playoffs being the way it has been is so people have the incentive to get as many points as they can each week and NOT bag it up so 8th place cant get the best partner possible and 4th/5th can bag to be the power team, how is it fair when you change the system in favor of any way that the end game can be manipulated

J Moyer S.D.G.C.   March 30, 2016 at 9:10am

Agreed hockey style is not fair to the points leader. First and second are a power team every year. We use luck of the draw all year to create a variable, so when does consistency factor in? The possibility of 1&2 as teams still remain. And youre right again jay, even I don't want to ... more

Jay B   March 30, 2016 at 9:24am

consistency factors in at the playoffs when 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 are teams that is more consistent than 1/8, 2/7, et****il 4/5 are the most consistent team in the playoffs making them the super team

Jay B   March 30, 2016 at 9:29am

And its been proven more than once than 1st/2nd are NOT always the super team griffith and i took last and wallo and i have taken last

Jay B   March 30, 2016 at 9:33am

as kurt pointed out above, thats the way it been since the league was created in 2011

J Moyer S.D.G.C.   March 30, 2016 at 9:39am

One and two are a power team every time, regardless of who they are. For example does jeff or anyone else want me for a partner to face you and rich? Or should he have an equal chance at all of us. The playoff deck has been stacked with the previous format.money is in the playoffs and low score win ... more

Jay B   March 30, 2016 at 10:18am

I guess some people just like arguing and pouring fuel on a fire, my vote is done so is my involvement in this discussion

J Moyer S.D.G.C.   March 30, 2016 at 10:24am

If the true purpose of the "ace run" league is to promote going for it ,then why not an ace race playoff? First one to hit metal or an ace takes first cash, then second and so on. Singles with no putting, no score.

Michael Wood   March 30, 2016 at 1:19pm

After listening to these comments, I disagree with the NHL bracket style now. It's unfair. Keep it the way it's always been or change it to singles. Singles would be best in my opinion. That's my vote, I'm done

Jeff Griffiths   March 31, 2016 at 6:24am

Lets get this right.. There is a "s" ending my last name. Also i dont think we got last as a super team jay. But we got the same payout as last place did...anyway anything can happen at the playoff so none of that really matters.

Karl Schneider   March 31, 2016 at 11:46pm

so for guys like me who aren't there all summer do I have to pay for a membership now to play?

Nicholas Cooke   April 1, 2016 at 3:23pm

You do not have to be a member, only if you want a membership pack and eligibility to the super pool.
