I do not think anybody who has ridiculed Hyzers on this board has put any real thought into their comments, business success or even into the game of disc golf for that matter. To post slandering comments and attempt to deter people away from a fundraising event not only shows poor character, but stupidity too. I do not know a single old timer around that wouldn’t love to see Johnson park back on the map, so rather it happens or not, why would anybody in their right mind try to ruin the attempt?... I have the answer for that too and I think it has something to do with the fact that they feel threatened by the competition that is obviously much more economically intelligent when it comes to business. To knock this head shop that also sells discs is absurd. You might as well go into Ogies with your hot heads and complain to them about selling beer in their store because they sell discs. You should probably stop down at Shakedown or post some stupid comments on their website too because they sell discs in their shop. Tilleys sells beer, liquor and discs, they are supporting alcoholics and addicted disc golfers both, should they be shut down? The gas stations near brewer sell rolling papers, blunt raps and condoms, should Innova take their discs out? I understand people’s worries about the game and its stereotype and I indeed agree that we need to get the stereotype away from the game if we ever want it to grow to be a predominate sport like it should. But one store that sells both pipes and discs is not going to stop this from happening. It is the professionals who are nationally known and the local pros who are mentors to younger players who are going to get rid of this stereotype. Instead of trying to steer people away from Hyzers, why don’t you guys find away to attract some young kids to your shop because Hyzers probably isn’t the spot for them. Why don’t you guys find a way to be a part of the positive things that Hyzers is trying to do. If they don’t allow baskets into when all is said and done, why don’t you collaborate with Hyzers on some ideas instead of hoping they listen to your suggestions after you’ve made a total ass of yourselves? If the sport is ever going to grow, it’s not just the stereotype that needs to go, but the stupidity similar to what was posted on this page needs to go too.
