Rob Martin Oct 21, 2015I've had it on my calendar last 2 years and couldn't go. I'm seriously looking at it now knowing you're going.
J Sherwood Oct 28, 2015Rob, I have been back an forth on the trophy only thing. I am thinking of dropping the novice division and just having rec and having a regular payout . What do you think?
J Sherwood Oct 28, 2015Trophy only does tend to keep sandbaggers without pdga ratings from playing down.

Thanks for asking; I do appreciate it. First giving a perspective of where I come from. I'm a 45 yr old 845 rated player. So, I usually play Rec, sometimes Intermediate, and occassionally Adv. Master. It depends on entry fee, the field, and payouts.

I also have ran approximately 8 C and B tiers in last 12 months. I like the bottom division, either Novice or Rec, to be trophy only. It keeps those that are on the line of two divsions from playing down simply to win product.
Rob Martin Oct 28, 2015Personally, I would drop the Novice division and have Rec trophy only.
Rob Martin Oct 28, 2015If you decide to do that, I would either lower the Rec entry fee, or provide an extra $XX amount voucher per player for them to pick out merchandise.
J Sherwood Oct 29, 2015Very good input Rob. I agree with everything you've said and it is nice to have another perspective on it.
J Sherwood Oct 29, 2015I do believe you are correct on the trophy only and I will likely do that with an additional Ducks voucher they can use.
Aron White Oct 30, 2015If it's Trophy-Only, 3 places is always nice. If it's that many winners, it's more fun than a payout in Rec, in my opinion and experience.
Rob Martin Oct 30, 2015Yeah, when I play Rec, I actually prefer trophy only. If I'm feeling ultra-competitive, then I'll move up to another division.
