Speaking purely from a marketing standpoint, there is a large desire to grow the sport by having the AM players watch the final 9 of the pros. With limited media coverage for disc golf in general, having a decent crowd to follow the final 9 offers photography and video opportunities that look more impressive than 4 men/women playing disc golf together. If an AM awards ceremony was to happen earlier, it could overlap the finals for either the men or the women pro cards, being a distraction with loud announcements, inconsistent applause, laughter, etc. I have been to other A-Tier tournaments where the AM's had a separate awards ceremony, but that was due to the Pros playing at a completely different course, and the desire to have the AM's flood that course as soon as possible to support the Pros, i.e. the sport. Lemmon Lake is unusual in that aspect as all the courses are within earshot of a loud awards ceremony. Timing to have an earlier awards ceremony could have also been an issue due to the 27 holes per day format. Had the AM's played only 18 on Saturday, there might have been enough time to collect the card information and have the AM awards during the lunch break (between the finish of the pro rounds and the final 9). If the tournament is held the same weekend as the cross country event next year, I wouldn't foresee the current format being changed at all.

WE wanted to make sure to recognize the top 3 winners of each division or at least, each trophy winner. All you have to do is ask and we would have given you your hardware and you could have gone on your merry way. Most people who win WANT to be given their awards in front of the crowd.
