Solitude's course is open daily until Sept 7, so you may be able to get a round in on one of the weekdays after the tounament. If you are into it, you can play the course before the lifts open by hiking about a mile from Silver lake in Brighton to the basket on hole #1. That does require you to find a ride from the Solitude parking lot back to the Silver lake parking lot. Check this website for ratings of the other local courses. I recommend the courses at Creekside and Roots in SLC, and Riverpark, Art Dye, and The Canyons if you don't mind a 20 to 40 min drive. This site says it all.
David I really appreciate the heads up an local suggestions, I planed on playing Creekside but I will be renting a car and get around to as many as I can.
