When: 8 am - noon at Warner Park Pavilion (Next to tee box 3)
Here's the list of projects for tomorrows workday. Please come out and help improve the course, and provide volunteers from Westview Community Church with valuable vision and insights from a disc golfers perspective. Each project will have a group of church volunteers assigned to work with a DFOK Lead, so let's make the most of the willing hands we'll have out there to help!
Bring work gloves, shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, 5 gallon buckets, water jugs, tree loppers (hand held only please), or any tools you have that can help with the following projects. Also: sunscreen, bug spray, and long pants may be ideal.
Project 1 (Lead: Rob Santiago) New Placement for Practice Basket: We will be installing a new placement for the practice basket (in direction of tee box 1), so alleviate strain on current placement. Then we will fill pit around current placement with limestone screening and mulch to improve longevity.
Project 2 (Lead: Scott Fenton) Pathway Limb Trimming and Mulch (Lower section): We will be trimming back tree limbs and mulching pathways connecting hole 4 basket placements to 5 tee box.
Project 3 (Lead: Daisuke Takahashi) Pathway Limb Trimming and Mulch (Upper section): We will be trimming back tree limbs and mulching pathway connecting hole 3 basket to 4 tee box, hole 4 tee box to 8 basket and cleaning up bushes behind 8 tee box and beside 8 fairway.
Project 4 (Lead: JP McVey) Screening Around Tee Boxes (Lower section): We will be building back up screening around tee boxes 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7. Replenishing what has washed away over the years, and attempting to make approaches to tee boxes more "flush" and erosion resistant in the future.
Project 5 (VOLUNTEER NEEDED TO LEAD!!!) Screening Around Tee Boxes (Upper section): We will also be building up screening around tee boxes 9, 4, and 6 with most emphasis devoted to 6 tee box. Additionally, clearing limbs behind and right of 6 tee box will be in the works with either this group or group 2.
