Parking was never limited- we got everyone in and no player had to park anywhere else, nor any customer. The tournament is not run by us but by an outside club. The people coming in do not make up for the lost revenue if customers can not make it in as well. Plus it is impossible to inform them in advance. Nobody had to pay for parking, Lakeshore charges a fee for events because it costs them more employee time and to be in compliance with county regulations. We hate that it is that way even more than you do.

I am not sure where post were made but I have not deleted any post event comments and I am the only one who has delete access for this event. We will continue to run our annual events here snce we have actually donated a basket to this park but will simply assign a $2 fee per player for events to cover the parking fee(event fee) thet the TD had to incurr on his own for this event for he was not informed of the high fee till after the event had begun.

Rich, Lake Shore Apartments opens their course to anyone for free. It's a big bonus for the local community. When there is a tournament, Lake Shore has troubles with local law enforcement due to the incoming and outgoing cars at peak times. So they make us hire an extra security guard for traffic management. What else should they do?

It is a gated community so yes they do need extra security for all the extra non residents on site.

That's an ironic comment about Hudson since they are trying to charge clubs more money for hosting tournaments. The metro parks also increased disc golf fees but Hudson doesn't inprove the baskets or clear the pads in the winter like Indy.

Maybe I can explain a bit, since I live there and have also talked with coordinators at Lakeshore. There was an incident last year (albeit at night) where a golfer's car was broken into and some ace pool money and other merchandise was stolen. The office was very upset when they learned of this because they feel something more could have been done to protect the vehicles. Their mind set is "every player could be a potential resident" so they really do want to put their best foot forward and protect vehicles/players. Having said that, Tim is right: This is a gated community. This is considered an "amenity" by said community. They look at this the same as a swimming pool or weight room. There aren't many pools or exercise rooms that you get to use for FREE, without being a member. It is a very fine line between keeping this available to the non-resident public and making it a true amenity for residents. I hope this sheds a bit of light on what Mike goes through to host an event there, and why Lakeshore takes the security of their guests very seriously.

Rich, they get into township trouble when there are beefs at the front gate and traffic backs up in the street. It happens at some disc golf tournaments. The extra staffer was to set up a system that would not back up into the street. There's dumb somewhere, I guess.e.
