DGLA: Ohio Cooperative Point Series - Winter 2014/15

DGLA: Ohio Cooperative Point Series - Winter 2014/15

Compare where we are this year so far with last Winter season:

So far this year:

6 participating leagues
24 total players
14 week season
Sunday Nov 23rd 2014 - Saturday Feb 28th 2015

Last Winter:

7 participating leagues
45 total players
14 week season

Current Participating Ohio Leagues:
- 2014-15 Sims Winter Saturday Scrambles
- Osborne 2014-15 Iceberg Sundays
- Punderson Winter Handicap League 2014
- Saturday Scramble - Winter League
- Sunday dubs
- W.U.S.S. Round

No fee to play in this league - Still in affect.
More fun and awards for the league rounds you already are playing.

If you play in a Ohio League between Nov 23rd and Feb 28th make sure the league has been added to the OhCPS-Winter. Just send us a link to the League's About page and we will add it. There is no cost to the league, no extra effort by the league, leagues can use what ever system for points as the OhCPS calculates it's points independently. There still is a limitation that for handicapped leagues you must post the adjusted scores that are used for payouts. Hopefully one day soon we will have a new option for this but all of Santa's Elves are currently working on higher priority projects.

*************** Important date ****************
January 15th 2015 - deadline for adding new
leagues to the Winter Point Series.
***********************************************

Also watch for more info on Winter Ice Bowls and Charity Points Series - More Winter fun and some freezing for a reason.

Points now re-calculated and using 3 tier point calculation; 20 or less players in a round - 20 pts for first place and counts down - helps smaller leagues (smallest leagues: singles need min. 4 players, Doubles need 3 w/Cali). League rounds with 21 - 60 players - normal points calculation. Great than 60 players is capped at 60 pts - normally not a factor during the Winter season.

Dropped Rounds - I'm sure I will get several message about "Why is one of my Rounds listed as Dropped?" and for all you regular you know that the OhCPS uses your best two rounds per week (Sunday through the following Saturday) to try and balance things between those who can play many rounds and those who can only get out to one or two.

Monthly awards - Many of you have seen more Disc Golf Scene Bling in on your profile for Weekly and monthly achievements - Thanks Pete and Disc Golf Scene and the OhCPS. Congrats to all those who have achieved these awards. In January and February we will have some additional awards for some of these monthly achievements - more in a future post but keep playing and achieving. It all pays off in many ways.

So what is happening out in our leagues and what does it take to be listed in the top Twenty of all the Winter Ohio Disc Golf League players?

What do you need to be in the top 20?

At least 1 rounds with with at least 18 points or an Ace. But more rounds is always better.

This would mean to beat the current top player, if Larry Bright Jr. trends hold true all 14 week, it is looking like you have to average about 19.8 points per round that count and probably around 21 rounds for the 14 week season - good luck
