The 2014 Turkey Open will be played on a new course at Sunnybrook. 17 of the baskets are in the same positions as they had been and we will have 1 new basket location. The new tee pad locations are an attempt to shorten up the course. The long tee course used to measure 12,533 feet and the short course measured a mere 8912 feet. With a little thought consideration to most people's shoulders we thought we would pare the course down a bit. For this event, and maybe the future course if it is received well, the long course will now measure only 8244 feet and the short course will now be 6190 feet.

I've always thought there should be a casual layout that flows w the ball golf fairways and a tournament layout where we can criss cross across the fairways when they close the course for us. Why not have 3 tee boxes on every hole? Shorts, longs and super longs.

We can just come play stony or bends or addison for more obstacles, i dont think the ball golfers would appreciate more trees so us disc golfers can have more fun, i think the play of such long distances in the wide open with the wind = an obstacle that you dont get at those courses....just sayin if you want trees and obstacles dont play a disc golf course on a ball golf course

To me this idea of having to "aim" your disc when you throw it makes for a better golf course. SB badly needs that...at least from the current long tees. USDGC style...well maybe not that much. Just on a few holes would make a huge difference.

Its a ball golf course dude, "grip it and rip it!" Not an "aim your disc" course, considering how many "technical" courses are out there compared to ball golf disc golf courses in a 50mile radius, sb, lakeshore and now bb...i think there are plenty of place to satisfy your professional skillset without having to change a "one of a kind" course as it is

lol^^. Yea, I have no problem leaving the course as is. It just means we will be fighting daylight especially if we have frost in the morning. I think permanently we will be adding in a 3rd tee box just like the golf course provides and we will at times utilize it for issues like daylight or potential run ins with a low turnout for a tournament and a high volume of ball golfers. We need to solidify these so we can address two important topics which will also save me a ton of time: cement tees of some sort and routered / stained tee signs with distances.
