Thanks all for participating in this league for this session. This will be the last round.A new league will continue starting with the Winter 2014/2015 Michigan Cooperative Point Series in November. The ace pool will carry over into the the new league after this weeks round.I will be running the league every Saturday up to the start of the Winter Point Series, along with the ace pool. With the shorter days approaching the format will be all shorts until next spring we will go back to alternate formats.I am also throwing out the idea of a 10 dollar buy in league with no ace pool, doubles random draw.
Why no ACE pool ? Is it that big of a pain ?
No not a big deal running an ace pool.......just had some conversations with a few people and the idea was tossed around.Just a suggestion nothing for sure yet...........just wanted to throw it out there.
I feel that someone should be rewarded with hitting an ace in league play. It doesn't necessarily have to be a big buy in for it, but some sort of pot should be accumulating.
I'd rather the bulk of the payout go to the people who shoot the best score(s). I guess it depends on what you want your league to be, people trying to score well or people firing line drives at baskets. $10 fee with $5 going to the ace pool is too much as far as I am concerned. $2 max for ace pool, I'd be fine with no ace pool but understand lots of people like it..
I like a ace pool I don't fire for aces play for birdies
i won't be there but ace pool just brings drama get paid for good playing.
A big ace pool buy in, on a non friendly acing course, with a cap of players per round = drama. $1-2 ace buy in on a course with ace runs (willow) while playing shorts all winter = fun. We all know that ace pot never gets to crazy for leagues that play willow shorts. No one is getting rich and the pool won't ever get big enough for random ace hunters. You can still up the actual round buy in to $8-9 bucks.
Thanks all for your feedback.....I would like to discuss this a little further before league starts today.I have a couple of ideas that I will mention and see if either would be a good idea.If anyone else has a suggestion please feel free to throw it out there.
