Showed up to the Cass Benton league today to be turned down from a full field. On the surface this seems to be bad luck for me to find out that spots were being held for people not yet at the league. What a crock? This is a league not a tournament with a waiting list it is suppose first come first serve. Let alone there is a yearlong competition that after this farce of logistics seems whole heartedly unfair. Somehow this league has gotten to the point of protecting other people’s money and investment making mine somehow less valuable. This is far from the first duplicitous action taken both those that make decisions for the league over the past couple years. I hope that those people in charge find some semblance of loyalty to those that are consistent players and members of the league in future league decisions.
In a league administrators defense i would say there were 60 people smart enough to show up early enough to reg because they knew with a high ace pool it would fill fast, EVERYONE knew it was first come first serve, and most leagues have a standing courtesy to a player if they call ahead of time to ... more
In a league administrators defense i would say there were 60 people smart enough to show up early enough to reg because they knew with a high ace pool it would fill fast, EVERYONE knew it was first come first serve, and most leagues have a standing courtesy to a player if they call ahead of time to have someone else buy them in if they will be a few minutes behind, i heard 10 people were turned away so you werent the only one, theres no reason to bash the hard working league admin that makes it possible for everyone to be there in the first place, i can see why you would bent but like any event, tournament or league, there are limitations and its well lnown that its up to the players to handle their registrations not the td or admins to accomodate the tardy
I would not say showing up at 415 for 5pm league is tardy by any stretch of the imagination. I too was turned away and I have been playing the past 6 weeks or so. I understand the high value ace pool will bring all kinds out of the wood works. It is frustrating to be a player who enjoys playing the league and would be there regardless of the acd payout.

all ill say is that its his league ang how he wants to run it did i agree with what all happened? no cuz ppl that do come more then once got shafted guys that have been there almost every week were turned away due to no spots held but in the same sence reg was to start at 4pm as people were told some showed at 4 to find out it started earler which in my mind was not fair

It sucks but everyone knew today's league would fill. I think considering all the people Phill did a good job.

Now I understand why Nightmoose protected their ace pool to their league players this past winter. Myself, Don, and any other regular league attendee or "member" has put way more ace money into that pot than the bums who "ace chased" and screwed us out of our regular league play by basically camping out hours before registration even began. **** all you acepool pirates. You know who you are.
And this whole $5 ace pool craze is ruining the sport of league play.It's basically turned league into an ace race when the acepool is high.

I understand that everyone has their own opinion on this. But really if you are saving spots for league admin who have shower up as much as some one els. Why not hold their spot. It was unfair to the regulas who work and can't just list at a course when they please. I do not agree with how it was handled yesterday. But at keat the people who ace deserved to hit it. Both of them at least were loyal league never who come when ace pool is not the only attraction!
Busters like YOU coming from all stretches of the state, arriving HOURS early to guarantee their spot, and pushing actual local league members out of play because they want to get their greedy little hands on OUR acepool money.

it was bull****. there were a few 1st timers there that shafted people that r there every week. jopps Tyrone spits Cantwell Dan Lee. danes. I know there r plenty more. but just sad it was just to boost the pot.

J B. You have been twice. Maybe 3 times. Always looking at the ace pool. And each time the ace pool was a good chunk of change. I will also point out when you came to willow and admitted to chasing ace pools. Weird that I only see you some where when the money is big. Also coming at 415 to a league that never fills is fine.
that's why they should eliminate ace pool and do 100% payouts . this way you get people who want to play real golf.If ace pools didn't exists i wouldn't be 50 long on every hole id be laying it up to deuce

I agree about protected ace pool and such. I just believe the people that put their money into the ace pool should get the opportunity to get some of it back. Not someone who come a few time and maybe has 10 or 15 bucks into it. If you protect it the poachers will be the only ones to complain.

ii like no ace pool and i have got alot this year its a five dollar gamble that you may hit one at least with 100% payout your play will pay not a shot that happened to go in at league.
Guys, lets be realistic. Who's going to decide who gets to qualify as a league player? Does coming 3,4, or 5 times make you eligible? Or is coming to the league more then half the time qualify you? Do you think that's not going to cause problems? That's a lot to ask of the league staf ... more

I'm sure it's not as easy as it looks. The ace pool is still big so I hope everyone gets there early next week?

Sounds like a bunch of cry babies that didn't plan ahead. My $ is just as green as someone who's been there every league. And a rough estimate, but I've easily paid thousands of dollars to ace pools over the years, and hit very few. And I've been playing Ca$$ since 2000. Hate on ya lil haters.
I try to steal jb's ace money all the time. I get looks like whos this guy out in St Claire Shores lol Its a competitive sport, got to be a man and be early to compete.
