The Econolodge on I-10 and US59 is the closest (7 minutes), nicer hotel. Restaurants near the Econolodge are Subway (next door), Hilltop Deli ( 5 minutes north on US59, then left) and Ruby's diner (next exit West on I-10, then right on US90). Hilltop has very good sandwiches. Ruby's serves good home cooking and breakfast on Saturday. It's closed on Sunday. There is a good Mexican restaurant (Rancho Grande) in downtown Monticello. Brick House Eatery in downtown Monticello is good too. Sandy's country buffet north of Monticello on US19 will serve lots of food. There are some hotels south of Monticello on US19, but they are 15 minutes from my house.
