DGLA: Michigan Cooperative Point Series - Summer 2014
The summer temps are starting to heat up and points piling up too and they are about to start to Double Up....
Highlighted League of the Week (HLW)
This is where we highlight a league to ensure player throughout the state know what other leagues are doing as well as encourage players to travel and check out new courses and how league are run at different locations - That alone is worth a little drive time but Double Points! makes it that much more interesting.
Some clubs will have extra fun scheduled and you will want to check the specific league pages before travelling in case there are last minute changes.
Reminder to post and see about sharing a ride and sharing the experience.
On the MiCPS Schedule dates with "Double Points!" and highlighted in green indicate HLW.
If leagues/clubs have special information they would like mentioned in the post please send them at least a week in advance. I will try to send out a summary of the next weeks HLW each week in June and July.

Rolling Hills County Park Double points!
We typically have a large turnout for the HLW. You can expect a Pre-round CTP and maybe some other pre-round games. There will be a CTP on almost every hole. We will probably have some food afterwards so you can eat before heading to one of the other great leagues in the area with afternoon rounds.
Don't forget to check out the progress on the new course layout. You can play two holes already from the back side of Hole 1 - just targets at the moment but worth a look for some fun warm-up holes.

$6.00 player fee each session

Discraft Michigan State Championship berths will be awarded to the top two players who do not already have berths. Check out the www.MDGO.org for more details about these state wide championships. At least one berth will go to the women player with the highest point total between this league and the Ypsi Dubs Tuesday league, that does not already have a berth. Best 12 rounds of the 16 round season.
Top Player get their name of the Ypsi Dubs Perpetual Growler trophy.
Top Three players get their name on the Ypsi Dubs Perpetual plague in the lodge at Rolling Hills.
$6 to play per round - Includes the standard CTPs (we add a CTP for every 12 players registered for a given round. Cash or prizes awarded.) Payout after each round. Payout based on $5 per player.
Optional Ace Pool - $2.00 (Ace pool pays out 50% payout)
Optional CASH CTPs, 100% & 50/50 - $2.00
$10 All In
Free Play option - We welcome all players, you can play for free. You are not eligible for payouts and you will be paired up with another Free player or Cali but we welcome you to come out and enjoy the round with friends.
There maybe a pre-round CTP or other activities during registration for all sorts of "amazing" things - don't be late....
You must be registered by roll call to play for payouts.

Clarification of Rules - This is a fun league - we try and help everyone learn Disc Golf etiquette and help players understand tournament play and rules but at this league we deviate a bit from some of the PDGA rules. Here are a couple:
1) You can flip your disc if you do not have a marker disc.
2) If the disc sticks in the side of the basket and you remove it before it drops it counts, as well as going through the basket and coming to rest in the basket.
3) Best Disc - Partners do not need to throw from the same disc. As long as both discs are in play it is up to the player to select which ever disc they view is the "best disc".
Be courteous of other players while they are shooting and others on other holes. Help others learn the rules and how to be better players and have fun while you compete and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. Pick up trash that others leave behind and do not leave trash on the course.
