MULTIPLE FORMATS: Bag tags are always considered to be "on the line" whenever two or more tag-holders get together for a round of golf. This is NOT LIMITED to singles play! Challenges are "automatic" and are in effect in doubles rounds, do-run-run, wolf, etc. Examples to illustrate: If six players are playing doubles but only 4 of the players have tags, the challenge is still in effect. Tags are redistributed at the end of the round according to the final scores. If only one of the players on the winning team has a tag, he gets the lowest number. If both players on the winning team have tags they get the lowest two numbers with the person who held the lowest tag between the two at the start of the round getting the lowest tag, etc.
