Hi Fred, we debated the B / A Tier designation last Fall and decided to remain a B Tier on purpose for a variety of reasons. All A Tier dates, although the hosting club can propose dates, are mandated by the PDGA so we may not get the Labor Day weekend we all wanted. A Tiers, to sanction the event, cost more just to register the event. Higher entry fees and higher deductions paid to the PDGA would end up costing each player more as well. As tournament directrs of a B Tier, we get to allocate how the funds are spread around where an A Tier has specific amounts for players packages provided to each player and added cash to the Pro purse. The PDGA manual may not provide you insight on the differences between an A or B Tier event. The Tour Standards Chart may help. Thank you for the comments, they are truly appreciated.
