I think I'll be making the trip. There are a couple other events going on around KS that weekend, but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to get to play with my favorite disc golf community. I hope to see some familiar faces there... Is the student discount only for KSU? Also, no payout for Open?
Nice! It will be good to see you .
Sorry Zane! I missed your message earlier.
The reason we have No Payout for Open is that we have to pay for the players packs (mostly the tournament disc) with your registration money. That doesn't leave much left to prize out with. In the 4 tournaments we have hosted, we have had one, zero, two, and zero players play open. So... be ... more

In the 4 tournaments we have hosted, we have had one, zero, two, and zero players play open. So... best case scenario, the winner get's their money back. So what I have done instead is say--No Prize, but the winner gets another tournament disc. But here's the deal, I'm flexible on how to run Open. So if you have another suggestion, I'm happy to hear it.
If we decide to make this a PDGA sanctioned event in the future, I'm sure it will draw more open players, and then we might even be able to find a sponsor who will add cash for open prizes. We also would raise the registration fee for open, and probably not include a players pack for open players as well.
Ok, Thanks for the info RevKev... I'm looking forward to playing this weekend!
...as far as divisions go. Maybe just squash Open altogether? There are plenty of am only tournaments. I don't think you need to change anything about the payout.
Hey, Mr. Zane! It will be good to see you again -- glad you're making the trip!
Looking forward to seeing you! Also... ALL students are $15, not just KSU...
