Thats my point you and your partner are playing open yet you sand bag into am1 for doubles? Your the highest rated AM in MI how does that make you better?
Not dogging or knocking ya do what you feel is right It just doesn't make sense to me. You both are good enough to cash if not win in open so why play for plastic?
If u said I would win every open event I played in I would not go back to playing open it was the worst experience of my life and pretty much ruined the game for me.
I also am moving up even though I may not be quite the caliber golfer as most who play Open but that isn't going to stop me from trying. And yeah I do see your point Dj, if it gets to be that way for me I am sure I will think the same way. But until then I am gonna do my best at trying to whoop ...

And yeah I do see your point Dj, if it gets to be that way for me I am sure I will think the same way. My goal is to be competing and potentially cashing in every event I play next year.
Playing Open is not the be all end all of disc golf. How many players move up to Open and then burn out never to be seen again. Am1 has no rating cap last I looked so it is impossible to sand bag.
what about the 935 rated player that has no choice but to compete against dj? any pro who just walks away from the game is a coward. they can obviously gain amnesty if their rating and circumstances qualifiles them. dj has made it clear he has no intentions to play pro no matter how high his rating ...

It's the mind set and physical training that u have to have to compete week in an week out with the open players. Then having to deal with all of the politics of the open division is horrible. Most pros no longer love the sport.. I was losing the love also but seen what was happening. I play to have fun and that is not possible in the open division
As for the Subject at hand .. I see it from all angles .. i undderstand how DJ feels about going pro .. and i understand how the bottom ranked players feel about competing against him . As i am one of them .. But you really can only worried about your own game .. Once your iin am1 .. Its a battle a ...

Read the Juliana Korver article three issues ago in Disc Golf Mag it explains it all and makes a lot of sense hope it never happens to me I love the game to much. Careful what you wish for.If you ever get that good the only place to go is down.
we can have an am1 division. Tim green wanted to play am 1 but their was no others... But this is a unsanctioned event so it dosen't matter to me. Im sure someone am 2 will shoot just as good as in open.
How you gonna play am1 in dubs yet open singles lmao your a funnyguy ;)
There are no am 1s! I don't find that funny at all.

I can't make ppl play am 1, so I have a division. If I had a single am 1 to play against I would be doing it.

crazy how some people believe in playing up a division. hopefully someone will play advanced so you dont have to play for $.

What do u consider a profesional?
The guy rated 935 has beat me in the last to tournaments that makes him a bagger! Nik Lehr!
why dont you just play open and exept plastic instead of cash to retain your am status

Yeah I really have no intension to play open
