Course Development Fund

Our Board of Directors have made the decision to create an course development fund as we see a need for more courses in our area. The way that we have decided to fund this endevour, is to collect $1 from every player at our leagues this year, in order to play. We will easily have enough money to purchase 18 baskets by seasons end. We hope that having money in hand for all of the baskets, it will lead to us finding a home for a new course. This is not an optional $1, it is mandatory and we believe that is it a small enough fee that it should not impact anyone too greatly.

For my highschool we have to have a senior exit project and mine was an idea to build a course in Abernathy park in davison

Not goof land. Too many other uses. This design was looked at about 3 years ago and it was far less than optimal

Alex Villanueva   December 20, 2012 at 10:27am

Looks like I have to change my project then lol

Mark Stephens   December 20, 2012 at 1:24pm

Well I would assume your project would not be dependent on something actually being accomplished that took a good amount of cash. The play ground equipment, the walking trails, the athletic fields all made it very hard to design a well flowing course.

I was going to set up fundraisers through my school to raise money but now it does seem like an unrealistic idea

Mark Stephens   December 20, 2012 at 7:28pm

Well just a FYI you would need about $1,800 just for baskets alone. They is not including signs, tee pads, or others

Alex Villanueva   December 20, 2012 at 10:27pm

Well sorry if it offended you it was just an idea to bring disc golf more into the davison area

Mark Stephens   December 20, 2012 at 10:44pm

Oh no. I was trying to let you know the kind of $ you would need for your project.

Mark Stephens   December 20, 2012 at 10:48pm

It is not an impossible amount of money by any means but you would need to know what your goal is I am going to assume. There is other land than the park. Other schools in MI have courses on them. I would recommend investigating land that is owned by the schools in the area
