The last tournament is in the books and the regular season for our Beta year has come to a close. There is only 1 person eligible to make up rounds and compete for a spot in the championship. Here is how the rankings currently stand:
#1 Vinny Piperato (77 pts) – Clinched a spot in the Championship. Clinched the #1 Position. 74 guaranteed points thus far. With the top spot secure, Vinny gets to choose where the championship is played at. He will announce the place in 2 weeks. He is the club's record holder for Limona, USF, and Buckhorn.
#2 Dan Harvey (46 pts)- Clinched a spot in the Championship. 39 guaranteed points thus far. After a second place finish in the final tournament, he has accrued enough points to secure a spot in the championship. Dan can sit back and improve his game for the next few weeks.
#3 Joe Mangrum (44 pts)- Clinched a spot in the Championship. 37 guaranteed points thus far. He answers the mail by winning his second tournament and locking in a spot in the championship. His game is also getting back to the way it was when he was posting single digit scores at USF. A few more weeks of tweaking should have him prepared to take on Dan and Vinny.
#4 Will Parson (37 pts) – 34 guaranteed points thus far. Instead of sealing the deal by locking in a final 4 spot, he fails to attend his last 2 tournaments, leaving his championship playing hopes in jeopardy. Chris Meyer will now have an opportunity to take over the #4 spot when he returns in 2 weeks. Only time will tell if Will is seen playing in November.
#5 Brandon Smith (31 pts)- Eliminated from the Championship. He fails to get out to the last tournament and take points. His guaranteed 31 points will not enough to get him into the November competition. He will now have to wait until next season to compete for the title.
#6 Chris Sikes (29 pts) – Eliminated from the Championship. He takes points in the final tournament, but not enough to capture a top 4 spot. He has confirmed that he will be playing in Season 1.
#7 Chris Meyer (22 pts)- 22 guaranteed points thus far. His work is cut out for him. He has 3 tournaments to make up… and needs to post great scores in order to take points. A few things can happen for him to clinch the final spot in the championship. He either needs to accrue 16 points throughout the 3 tournaments, or win Weekly Informal 3 and finish 3rd in any of the other 2 tournaments. Can he pull of a miracle and compete in the championship?
#8 Victor Millar (8 pts)- Eliminated from the championship. He failed to make up any of his many rounds. Maybe we will see him back next season.
#9 Scott Artal (4 pts)- Eliminated from the championship. He has confirmed that he will return for Season 1.
#9 Keith Sikes (4 pts)- Eliminated from the championship. He has confirmed that he will return for Season 1.
#11 Matt Massuto (1 pt)- Eliminated from the championship. A possible return for Season 1.
