I actually had to look it up to be sure of the exact rules for this, it’s different for higher tier events.
The PDGA rules for A-tier events says if you do not accept cash or merchandise you can remain AM status.
In A-tiers you can only accept a trophy if your spot is awarded one.
In this tournament first place receives a trophy.
