This email is for those playing Masters at Bucyrus.
Once again, the possibility of negative is in the area. Pretty certain that we will get rain on Saturday, just hoping that current forcasts hold true and that rain doesn't show until evening. I have seen predictions for light rain in the early morning to heavy rain by 4:00pm. We will do all we can to complete this as early as possible. That includes several three player cards. So please help us by keeping the play moving.
When you get here you will notice some changes at Bucyrus. The powers to be decided to put in a walking/biking track through the park (despite not having the money to even open the pool) and it has some significant implications to the DG course. While the play will mostly be as it was, some areas have changed, and it's certainly visibly different. The path remains the OB on #10. On hole #12, just imagine the path isn't even there as far as play goes. Do be mindful of anyone using the path though. Thirteen will be a challenge. Surrounded by water is OB on the right, but high grass will make you miserable. The path, on or over is now OB left and it makes the hole much narrower. They also have a bunch of plastic in the area which frankly... is annoying but in play. They put a new pad on #14, but it's right in the landing zone of tee 13, so we will not be using that. On #14 we will tee from the new path where I have set flags. It's in the approximate location of the old tee. Please be mindful of those using the path at all times. The path remains the OB on #15. The path on #16 is only OB if a disc comes to rest on the path. On #17 the path remains the OB long. But there is a second hazard as there is a big hole is present for something. If you land in there, retrieve your disc from the area and play it from above the hazard no closer to the basket. The path is also now the OB right and long (on or over) it makes the hole a bit trickier. There is a lot of dirt where grass was and will be again. But dirt mixed with rain becomes mud, so you can see why we don't want rain to be a factor. Some new trees are down in the woods of the front nine but we made paths through them. (Thank you for the work Dave Brown)
I apologize for the changes, but the city government here does their own thing.
Winners of division with at least four players will receive a set of cornhole boards and bags. Because of late entries and player movement, I find myself short one set of boards. If you win a division and have no want of the boards, I will buy them from you for $100. I only need one set and only the first winner to make that offer will get the $100. If nobody wants to sell their set, then the FA40 division winner will get their set at a later date since they were the last division to reach the necessary four players.
We will have lunch available for purchase, $5 gets you two pieces of pizza, a water, chips and a snack item.
For those who didn't know, this is our tenth annual Masters event. Next year there will be changes and while we definately will not be using Galion, it's possible we will move from Bucyrus as well. The Masters will still go on, but it will see some changes.
Thank you all for being a part of it. We appreciate you all. Drive safe tomorrow, find your MOJO and have fun. I'll see you in the morning before we tee off.
