I walked Westchester on Wednesday and it looked pretty swampy and I can only imagine by Saturday it's going to be a watery mess. Basket 1 was completely surrounded by water, the area around the baskets on hole 2 were looking like they were turning swampy, the walking tunnels were filling with water, and pad seven was submerged in water. Davis will likely still be all wet on the walking trails along the field, but at least the actual course will be good. Maybe. Probably. Definitely likely.
The leaderboard is a tight race so we'll see if there's any movement with this final week. Acepot is at $54.
Week 9 recap:
6 players in A pool, 2 each in B and C. Not a bad showing for Davis.
Adam and James were both scorching hot the first 9 before they both cooled off significantly the second time through. Adam was -7, James -6 after the front 9, and then they both finished tied for first at -8. Looking at the groups, I don't think a single person had a better second half than first half. Must be all that walking in the snow tuckering you old fogies out.
Scott was the only player without a bogey. The second consecutive week he can claim that distinction. He shot -6 for third.
B pool was a 2 player shootout with Nolan starting slow but ended up getting 4 birdies on the day and cruising to a double digit stroke win in B pool with his +2.
C pool again dominated by Lukas as he won for the second week in a row. He couldn't match his great round from week 7, but did enough for the easy win.
And on second thought I take back my earlier statement. It seems Nolan and Jeremy both shot better on their second 9 than first 9. Which explains the drubbing they laid down on their pool partners. Nice job guys.
See ya at Davis for the final round of this winter.
