Tier 2 Registration is for 970 rated players...understandable for MPO, MP40, perhaps even MP50, but are there even any 970 rated MP60 or MP70 rated players in Canada? Apr 9

Over the past few years, Falcon’s Flight has sold out at a record pace. With that in mind, we’re introducing a new registration approach that better aligns with other high-demand tournaments across North America.
Additionally, Falcon’s Flight continues to attract players beyond Canada. As a USDGC qualifier, we want to ensure strong and fair representation across the field.
Each tiered registration window will also include a sponsorship-based entry option for players who may not meet the rating requirements.
We hope this provides some clarity, and we appreciate your support.

Gatzke, we appreciate your input and perspective on this.
Unfortunately, we’re not able to implement an out-of-country registration option. Events like Canadian Nationals have the capacity to accommodate significantly more players, which helps avoid the issue of selling out almost immediately — something we consistently face year after year compared to most events.
With that in mind, our team has spent months discussing this approach. We feel this tiered system is the fairest way to ensure top players across North America have a clear and reasonable opportunity to register, especially with Falcon’s Flight serving as a USDGC Qualifier this year.
For context, many people don’t realize just how quickly this event fills. Last year, the amateur side sold out in roughly 30 seconds, with a 50-player waitlist forming within minutes. The pro field took over an hour to fill, which still provides a reasonable window to register.
As an A-Tier with $10,000 added cash, it’s important to us that the top players are well represented in the field. This structure helps us achieve that while still maintaining fairness across registration.
If we felt age-protected divisions were underserved, we would absolutely look at opening an early registration window for those groups. However, based on our current data, that hasn’t been the case. In fact, players in the 40–60 age range currently make up more than one-third of the Lost Egg field, with the 40+ and 50+ divisions often being among the largest at many events.
We understand not everyone will agree with this approach, but we’re always open to feedback and will continue to evaluate and refine things moving forward.

I see tier 4 registration opens mpo to all players. Is it realistic to think there may still be an open spot then or foolish? And should likely register in a different division earlier to avoid not missing out? Cheers

Hi Robert
There is no cap on the number of players within individual divisions; however, there is a cap on the overall Pro Pool.
This year, we have introduced four tiers of registration for several reasons, including our status as a USDGC and Throw Pink qualifier, as well as the continued high demand that has led to the event selling out in record time in previous years. As noted in earlier discussions, this tiered approach is something the committee has carefully considered, and we believe it provides the best balance in ensuring strong player representation while also aligning with the structure of similar events.
Based on historical participation trends within the Pro Pool, we do not anticipate it reaching capacity prior to the opening of the fourth registration tier.
