Hey Everyone!
We are only a few days out from Ice Breakers 4 Presented by MVP Disc Sports and the weather is looking like it should be good for us - sunny and a bit chilly in true Ice Breakers fashion!
Attached is the caddy book for the event. If you have played Ice Breakers in prior years, you'll recognize 90% of the layout. Due to a booking conflict with the clubhouse, however, we have had to make some modifications to the layout and location of tournament central.
Tournament Central will now be located on the path near teepad 3. Nearby, on the end of Cummins Road on the other side of the gate will be the porta potty for those who need it.
Our usual hole 10 had to be removed as we cannot be teeing off of the patio. We'll now play hole 1 twice. However, we've made hole 1 a little more interesting by placing a late double mando that needs to be passed through. No hyzers! ;)
For those who have not attended Ice Breakers in the past, welcome! We play a modified layout on Lakers that utilizes the same core 9-hole loop with some added "safari" holes.
The road and beyond is considered hazard for all holes it is in play, and we deem hazard by whether your disc is fully surrounded on flat ground on the road or beyond. If it is over-handing slope or laying on the slope of the road itself, the disc is considered in bounds.
The "reedy edge" of the pond and beyond is considered out of bounds for all holes it is in play. Your disc must be fully out of bounds and out of the fairway. If part of your disc is on the fairway, then it is considered in bounds. Please be fair to card mates and err in favor of the player.
We will cover the changes during the player meeting and will have signage on the course. However, you can review the caddy book for hole signs with notes, mandos, and distances (recently confirmed using a rangefinder - except where noted).
We have a few important notes to add:
Parking will be very tight due to the booking at the clubhouse. Please consider carpooling or getting rides as much as possible.
This is a public park and we have exclusive use of the property during the event. During this time there is no smoking, no dogs, and no alcohol allowed on the property. Please follow the rules and keep Ice Breakers' track record clean!
We will have extra garbage bags available on holes 6 and 8. Please use them and do not litter.
Be friendly and helpful to your fellow players! Ice Breakers is unsanctioned, is beginner friendly, and is a fundraiser for kids.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the event on Saturday!
One last reminder: the BBQ is cancelled unfortunately. We will be issuing refunds at the event!
Check in starts at 9AM!
Tee off is at 10AM!
THANK YOU TO OUR TITLE SPONSOR, MVP DISC SPORTS!
Cheers,
Stephen & Brandon
