Greg Hearn Feb 18No, but the tiered registration is allowing higher rated individuals to register first and then general registration opens March 1 with no limitations
Sean Goodwin Feb 19I suppose that even if I sign up for MA2, I would get shuffled around come July regardless.
Sean Goodwin Feb 20Yes but like I was saying, regardless of what division I sign up for, we get shuffled based on ratings updates closer to the event anyways.

I think you are mistaken Sean, I don’t believe you will be shuffled based on your rating. You can choose to play MA1 or MA2 regardless of your rating. The registration tiers based on ratings is just spacing out registration a bit.

The PDGA does ratings updates the second Tuesday of the month. If the event you’re playing in falls inside the threshold of two weeks since the update, the TD can choose to leave you in your registered division. If it’s beyond those two weeks, the PDGA requires the TD to move the player to their next eligible division.
For the Canadians, PDGA ratings updates will be July 14, inside the two weeks threshold, leaving it up to the TD what they want to do. There needs to be consistency in their decision, as it really shouldn’t be a pick and choose situation. Either they let all players stay or they move all those rate out.
