Week 7 brought the league to Whispering Doakes, a course that always seems to whisper bad ideas into your ear right before you throw. The early start got everyone out in the cold before noon so players could get home for the big game—but first, they had to survive the woods.
The air was sharp, the lines tighter than Alcantra, and scores reflected a course that rewards patience more than power.
???? A Tier — The Cold War Continues
Kelly Allen kept the pressure high with a strong -5, proving once again why he’s one of the frozen favorites this season.
Justin Foster stayed right behind at -4, never letting Kelly out of reach.
Jake Ratliff fought through the woods for a -2, steady but searching for that explosive round.
Patrick Phelps posted -1, grinding every fairway for position.
Thomas Voight finished at even, the course biting back against one of the league’s usual top threats.
Whispering Doakes didn’t hand out easy birdies — and A Tier felt every one of them.
???? B Tier — Foley Freezes the Field
Christopher Foley absolutely owned the woods this week with a commanding -7, the best score in B and a round that felt almost effortless.
Alex Strawn held together at +1, surviving the chaos.
Adam Fogelman and Jeremy Ratliff both struggled to find rhythm, each finishing at +7 as Doakes punished every mistake.
A reminder that this course doesn’t care about momentum — one bad kick and you’re fighting for survival.
???? C Tier — The Long Walk Through Snow
Wilson Jennings battled through for +12, holding off the rest of the tier.
Jax Ratliff followed at +18, still grinding in the winter conditions.
Rheannon Fabrello finished at +22, proving once again that persistence matters more than perfect scores in the frozen months.
????️ Looking Ahead
Week 7 showed what happens when the Frozen Mat-Su league leaves the comfort of open fairways and enters the trees. Scores tightened, tempers cooled, and every shot required focus.
With only a few weeks left before the thaw, the race for each tier is beginning to sharpen. The ice isn’t melting yet — and neither is the competition.
