“Where the wind bites harder than the bogeys.”
The chill is here—and it showed no mercy.
Week 1 of the Frozen Mat-Su league opened with piercing winds and ice-cold putts as brave players took to Alcantra to usher in the final countdown to 2026. With gusts strong enough to send discs sideways and spirits shaking in thermals, scoring low was a war of willpower more than form.
???? A Tier – The Ice Kings Battle Early
Dave Rector was the last man standing above the freeze line, carding a solid +1 in brutal conditions.
Kelly Allen and Thomas Voight tried to weather the storm, both finishing at +3, though both showed flashes of warmth with aggressive play that just couldn’t fight through the gusts on the final stretch.
???? B Tier – Grit Through the Gusts
Aaron Richardson gritted out a +2, topping B Tier and holding off the inevitable winter rust.
Christopher Foley stayed composed at +5, showing the steadiness that could become dangerous once the wind dies down.
Alex Strawn and Wayne Danjin both braved the headwinds and hanging branches for matching +6 finishes.
????️ Frozen Forecast:
It’s only Week 1, and already the cold has teeth. With more Arctic rounds to come and 9 weeks left in the season, one thing’s certain—this isn’t for the faint of heart.
Week 2 arrives next Sunday at 2 PM. Bring your layers. Bring your fire.
The Mat-Su may be frozen—but the competition is just heating up.
