To have the benefit of the extra shot per hole, you need to get a Second Chance disk during that round/event. However, if you get a second chance disc in more than one session then you can use any of your chosen molds at any point.
So if you play all 4 for example, you'd be able to use potentially a Harp, Sampo, Hatchet, or Gatekeeper for your second chance shot on any hole. Assuming you got one for each round.
