Good afternoon Harvest players!
Thank you all so much for filling up our first ever tournament at the new and improved Hinton Park and contributing to the great cause of Porter Leath. Here’s some info to know before the event:
Schedule:
7:30-8:15 - Player Check-In and Pick Up Player Packs
8:30 - National Anthem and Prayer
8:35 - Player Meeting (all players must be present)
9:00 - First round approximate start time
Lunch Break - at least 1 hour after the last group is finished
1:00 - Second round approximate start time (exact time will be posted and sent out via email)
After the second round is complete:
Ace pot throw-off from atop the mountain if no aces are hit.
CTP winner prizes (will get to select in the hole order)
First place trophies awarded
Other Info:
Cafe 127 will have a coffee truck set up all morning with drinks and snacks for sale so please plan to come support them when you arrive.
If for any reason you can’t make it, please withdraw ASAP so that a waitlister will be able to plan on playing! After midnight, refunds will only be sent if your spot is successfully filled from the waitlist.
There is a bridge out on Holmes Rd just West of the park. You must enter the park coming from the East on Holmes Rd. This may add a couple extra minutes depending on your route, so plan accordingly!
There will be a CTP flag on every hole for whoever gets closest to the pin ALL DAY. Some of them are for specific divisions, so check it before you move it. They are in effect for both rounds, so at the very end of the day please bring them all in from your ENDING HOLE.
The ace pot currently has 54 people paid for a total of $270. If you’re not sure whether you signed up for it or want to get in, check and/or update your registration on DiscGolfScene before midnight tonight!
After everyone has picked up their player packs, all leftover merch will be available for purchase throughout the day. This money will help cover costs and go directly towards the final donation to Porter Leath, so please come get it! We also welcome and encourage any other generous donations you want to give!
All payouts will be done electronically as soon as practical after the event is complete. Pros will get cash sent to their PayPal address. Amateurs will get online credit sent to them from 1010 Discs (can also be redeemed in-store at their Horn Lake, MS location)
There are plenty of new and first time tournament players in the field and that is a great thing! I expect all veteran players to be as patient and helpful to them as possible. With this being a PDGA sanctioned event it is important to know and abide by the rules: https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf
A few rules highlights:
No foot faults - you must throw from behind your disc (or a mini marker used in place of a disc), and within “circle 1” or 10 meters from the basket you may not follow through in front of your disc.
Don’t break or alter the course - You may only move loose limbs and debris from your stance or behind it
Pace of play will be very important with such a full course - You have 30 seconds to throw once it’s your turn and the area is clear.
You have 3 minutes to search for a lost disc before you must take a penalty stroke and go back to your previous lie. All players in the group must be aware and help watch where discs land (especially in the tall grass)
If you have a rules dispute that can’t be resolved by the group, declare a provisional shot and finish the hole both ways and note both scores - the TD will settle it after the round.
Everyone has to keep score the whole time, whether that be on the digital scorecard or the paper scorecards that are available. Password: harvest
PDGA Live App or online: https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/score/login
A copy of the caddy book is attached with hole-specific info to get familiar with before tomorrow.
Please take a good look at all of our generous sponsors who made this event possible and consider thanking them by giving them your business in the future!
Thanks again for coming out, we hope you all have a great time tomorrow and don’t hesitate to ask any further questions!
