PayPal doesn’t collect sales tax, they collect fees for using their payment software. The fees collected by disc golf scene do not include sales tax either.
GP is an LLC and our disc golf registrations are taxable and we’ve had to report and pay sales taxes on all of the entry fees we’ve collected.
The fee structure provided by the PDGA also doesn’t account for sales tax and PayPal will not collect sales tax since payments are processed through Discgolfscene. Therefore, we’ve had to add a mandatory checkbox to every GP event to collect sales tax.
