What will the MA4 temporary pads be, distance wise from the pins?
Asking because I just might bump myself up if I feel like the temp pads are too easy (because shorts are already relatively easy...) Oct 5
Scott Schrah Oct 6I was wondering the same. Doesn't really make sense that FA2 would play normal shorts (max rating 824) and MA4 plays shorter temp pads (max rating 849).

Right? I mean, I'm all for spicing things up but it seems kind of pointless for anyone who's already played the courses and recognizes that the holes are easily par-able at MA4 tier. And if you consider Scott's point, it makes even less sense, to be honest.
I might just bump myself up to MA3 to at least play the proper tee length, rather than the shortened shorts just because I personally like a proper test.

On the blue course they are 1. 313, 2. 412, 3. 305, 4. 310.

And that's valid! I just had to inquire, though that does come off the unfortunate assumption (unfortunate because I hate assuming - "when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me") that most players who've played FF would have played Stony a few times and in turn, played from the established shorts and are already familiar enough with it.
I understand where you're coming from though! I'm more than excited for the tournament! Thank you for hosting and for responding.
