Taylor Quigley Oct 4Apparently we’re in C pool now. Not sure when we’re all supposed to find time to practice a new course with thanksgiving next weekend….
Alissa Saunders Oct 4Ya like most of us have other tournaments like I have no time
Kevin McIntosh Oct 4Hey Alissa, Yes, the FA1 had to move to the C Pool based on the number of registrations.
Brooklyn O'Krafka Oct 4Exactly Taylor. I work tomorrow and can't practice over Thanksgiving. And we can't practice Victoria park right now. And now a new course
Alissa Saunders Oct 4It’s kinda wild to change it so last minute I’m in school and work when I’m not in school I guess I’m going to have to practice it glowy…
Taylor Quigley Oct 4Hoping for good signage out there for all of us playing blind. I know the last time I played there I got totally lost trying to find the teepads and understanding where the baskets were.
Sara Skates Oct 4It looks like we are the ONLY divsion to move pools. Kinda BS. ????♀️

Hi everyone, FA1 & MA50 both changed pools. I don't know if I would consider this "last minute", with three weeks to the event. However, I will admit that this is less than ideal.
We had WAY more people sign up than originally anticipated, which is both a good and bad thing: good that we get to accommodate more folks into the event, less good that we have to switch things around a little bit and some will undoubtedly be somewhat negatively impacted by that. If it were up to me, we would have been able to cap the event at 252 players to ensure a smooth & enjoyable experience for everyone.
As it is, we've had to pivot to accommodate more players (as all qualified players are eligible to play in the event), and we're doing the best we can with the resources available to us.
And yes, the current plan is to have tee signs at all three courses (Kelso already has those in place), so hopefully wayfinding will be less of an issue.

Hi Spencer, as detailed in the comments on an earlier post, most folks have expressed the sentiment that they don't want to have to play/practice three courses for an event; two being the ideal number. But we came to the conclusion that at least one pool would have to play three courses.
Our TD team initially debated several different course assignment options, and that was based on projected division numbers from last year's Provincials (213 players, and we projected ~250 for this year). Alas, we managed to blow way past our projections with the current field, so we've had to pivot our plans.

Very disappointed with this change. I already coordinated my Airbnb with an MA1 player since we were at the same course on the same days. We have one car for the tourney.
And how are we supposed to practice a new course at this point.
Megan Donovan Oct 4And just to clarify... This is most definitely considered last minute when logging and logistics for this event needed to be coordinated in advance. Huge disappointment
Hi Megan, I'm truly sorry to hear that you are disappointed. I guess in retrospect, we shouldn't hav ...

Hi Megan, I'm truly sorry to hear that you are disappointed. I guess in retrospect, we shouldn't have announced pool assignments at all until registration closed. That would have certainly avoided this disappointment for some.

I understand the course changes based on Vic park. The part I struggle with is layout for FA1. This should be a challenging tournament for us? Looks like our layouts are all the easier layouts? Jr playing more challenging at times? Could this be adjusted? Feels like potentially an easier fix knowing the courses themselves can’t change.
Ryan Bevilacqua Oct 7Hey Stephanie the TD team will discuss your suggestion of a layout change. The junior divisions are playing a more difficult layout because their average rating is higher than fa1.
