We've come to Fall and winter is coming. The warmth & light has moved away, but we'll find her again eventually. Just gotta get thru a bit of a cold spell.
Really haven't talked about rankings too much but here they are:
Dan 240 points, 8 rounds
Naz 192.5 pts, 9 rds
Allen 162.5 p, 6 r
Adam 147.5, 8
As a reminder our league takes your best 7 points rounds and ignores the rest. 1st and 2nd may be locked up, but there could be a battle for 3rd? Unless Naz or Allen don't play the last round and gives Adam or even James a chance to jump up and snipe em. Who knows, maybe it's not locked up at all.
Forest v. Flight, 2025 - There's only 3 amateur spots left! MPO likely has room for another 12. So if you want in on an AM spot, sign up ASAP. There's 2 MA2 spots left, otherwise waitlist the div you want and we'll make sure to fill the 25 AM spot cards somehow.
Week 9 Recap:
NAZ MUNOZ HIT THE ACE! He got hole 4 blue basket on the pure line, hyzer flip flat and straight laser with an electron envy and earned $127 for the effort. Started his round -3 after four holes and was primed for greatness. He was texting meafter those first few holes and was surely thinking about the pro-tour next year. He had to settle for winning B pool and finishing the round at even. Not bad, but the pro-tour plans died that day. He was one of two people to get the birdie on the par 4 11. Loren and Dennis tied for second place in B pool with their +2s. Dennis was visiting from SE Alaska and decided to par just about every hole. With 89% par, he far and away led that stat. Loren, like Naz, was -3 on holes 1-4. Also like Naz, he couldn't find the same magic on the longer holes.
Ace pot was reset to $50 and it's winner take all until it gets back over $100.
C pool was a very tight race with all 3 players finishing within a couple strokes of each other. Salvador edged out the win with his 2 birdies (the only C pool birdies) and won by 1 stroke. Andrew shot +12 for second, and Nolan finished in third for his last C pool round (his rating bumped to B pool ;) today). Yes, you play your current rating, not the rating you started the series with. There are a few guys who moved up or down a pool with today's rating update.
Capt Groves led the way for all scorers with a really nice -3. Should have been a -5 but looks like hole 5 got away from him. I'm sure his cardmates are to blame somehow. Scott was the other one to birdie 11, was one of two to birdie 8, and was the only one to birdie 17. James and Harrison, the aforementioned cardmates, shared a 3 way tie for second with Joshua with their Es for the round. Josh had the most up and down round with his 5 birds (matching Scott), but took an equal number of bogey strokes. Josh was the only one to birdie 7 and one of 2 for hole 14. James had 4 birds, and Harrison 3. Harrison got some good ones tho. Birdied 8 with Scott and was the only one to birdie the super bonus 18. Dude must throw far I guess? James was one of 2 people to birdie 13.
The last stud deserving of a shoutout is Allen Black with his EAGLE ON SIX! Clearly a lefthanded hole as we all know. He was also one of 2 birds on 13 and 14.
Holes 4 (2.44 avg) and 1 (2.63) were the easiest. Holes 2 (3.75), 10 (3.69), 5/9/18 (3.56), and 16 (3.5) put in some work to wreck some rounds. Solid job Kincaid Blues.
