I think the format is fine the way it is. If I didn't putt like a doosher I easily could have won every match. A pool players are a pool for a reason. If you make every putt you will rarely lose if ever. 1-3 1-3 3-1 1-3. Its hard to cash no matter what level you are on. I think it is the most fun i've had at any disc golf event.
