This event is a one-day c-tier with a lower entry fee and a significant amount of added cash. The idea behind having MPO play the first round from the reds is to entice people that usually play MA1 to try playing up a division, which hopefully helps to build a larger local MPO field long term. Two rounds from the golds necessarily favors higher rated players and can be intimidating. Playing the first round from the reds gives more people a chance to score well for the event. There aren't very many people that can keep pace with Brad when playing from the golds, but there are more people that would stand a chance against him from the reds.
