Week 7 Recap:
It was a dark and stormy night. The moonlight was reflecting off the curtains of rain. Winds from the Arctic swam amongst the towering trees. And there were 7. 7 Brave. 7 Warriors in the night.
Well actually the weather was pretty dang good. Some light showers but most people played sans umbrella or rain jacket. We only had two cards so the pace of play was friggin great. Not that we don't want to encourage 20+ players, it was a nice change of pace to just split the groups into 2 and sling plastic without a single backup.
A pool had 2 players, B pool had 3 players, and C pool had 2. Dan (A pool) and Naz (B pool (eyeroll emoji)) played together and battled to the exact same score at -7. Naz hit his sweet spot in the middle of the course birdying 8 of 9 holes (6-14), and Dan made his comeback on the last 7, getting 6 birdies. We were both +2 after 4 holes.
Scott and Lyla came out and joined the ADGA for a league round. Nice to see ya out there. Neither one played up to their own standards tho and each finished 2nd in their rating pool.
Jake Ratliff's southern drawl started off great with birdies on 1 and two. Parking both. The rest of his round turned out fairly middling however with 5 birdies and 3 bogies on the round. shooting -2 for second place in B pool.
AK was the only 3rd place finisher in any rating pool. So that's unique. Adam went -1 on the back 9, and +1 on the front.
Jesse took down C pool. He would have dominated had he made his short putts tho. Gotta focus on the gimmes man!
Hole 18 was the easiest with 4 out of 7 birdies and only 1 bogey. It also had 100% fairway hits! Which some may say is slightly skewed since only Naz tracks his shots. But I'm rolling with it anyways. And I know for a fact that 3 of those birdies was with a Proxy off the tee. Go Proxy!
Hole 4 played the hardest relative to par as usual (we all know it's a par 4 man, c'mon). But ignoring that hole then hole 7 played the hardest at .86 strokes above par. Naz was the solo birdie. Nice dude. His stats say it was a C2 putt. I was there tho. And can't remember. Hahah
Hole 3/4 were the only holes without a birdie.
Tons of solo birds due to our small field size. Naz holes 7, 10, 14. Dan holes 15, 16, 17. Jake holes 2, 11.
Only a couple weeks left for summer leagues!
