We are officially 3 days away from the Power Disc Golf Academy Championship Series Finale!! I hope you are as excited as I am for the event. If you're traveling this week, I hope it is a safe and smooth trip. The weather is looking beautiful with sunny days and highs in the mid 70s and lows in the 50s! This email will provide you with some additional information and updates for the event.
Tee Times:
Draft tee times are posted to the event PDGA page. Tee times may change slightly if any players drop out. Tee times will be finalized by Wednesday, 8/27 at 8:00pm. Please check your tee time on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning!
Player Packs and Pickup:
Player pack pickup will begin at 8:00am on Thursday morning. Each player will receive:
-1 Discraft Special, Paul McBeth, or Paige Pierce disc
-1 Discraft ESP, Z, or other premium plastic disc
-1 event themed Loot Bag
-1 event themed Loot Towel1 event themed Player Tag (made by Loot)
-1 Encore Performance Tee1 pair of Encore Socks
-1 bottle of Panama Jack sunscreen
The player pack retail value is approximately $150. My goal for the player pack was to provide you guys with items that were event themed, useful during the event (and hopefully other events), and travel friendly. I hope you guys enjoy them! We have some extra player packs available for purchase for any caddies, guests, or players that would like another pack. Extra player packs will be for sale from 3:00pm on Friday until 7:00pm on Saturday for $75 and will include all of the items listed above, except the custom tag and the sunscreen (~$120 retail value).
Practice Tee Times and Flex Starts:
There are still about 30 spots remaining for the practice tee times on the Championship Course and Wild Times! We have about 5 spots remaining in the Sanctioned Flex Start at the Championship Course and 2 spots remaining in the Doubles Flex Start. You can register at the links above until Thursday, 8/28. There is an MA3 player looking for a doubles partner! If you are interested, check out the comments on the Doubles Flex Start.
I understand that paying greens fees for a practice round is frustrating, but this was one of Eagles Crossing's requirements when we booked the event. I can't imagine the amount of money the course owner has invested into creating the courses and the property for us to enjoy. The course owner built the new parking lot and installed 10 new baskets at Wild Times for this event. They may even have a third course coming in the future! This is only possible because of the greens fees that the course collects.
Friday Mini Games:
Ace Race:
From 10:00am to 6:30pm we will have an Ace Race at the Driving Range! The first three baskets on the range are worth $250, $500, and $1,000 if you can ace them from the teepad. $5 for 2 throws and you can enter as many times as you like. Payout will be in the form of cash or PayPal.
Distance Contest:
From 6:30pm to 9:00pm we'll have a distance contest at the Driving Range! Players can enter in 4 divisions: >900 rating, <900 rating, women, and pros. $5lplayer for 2 throws and 100% of entry fees will go to payout. The 3 farthest throws in each will split the payout 60%/30%/10%! Amateur payout is in the form of merchandise to the tournament store and pro payout is in the form of cash or PayPal.

Trevor - Those payouts are automatically populated in PDGA tournament manager. If you multiply 63 players x $18.50/person, you get $1,167 which is added to the payout. The PDGA typically pays out 45%, which we are doing.
The fee breakdown has been posted in the "About" section since December 2024. The fee breakdown follows the guidelines established by the PDGA in their Finances and Payout section of the player manual: https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/504
"Pass Through" fees are fees associated with the overhead costs of the event and are not included in the "player value" for player packs and payout. The PDGA only allows the PDGA Fee ($4), TD Fee ($4), and any fees associated with Course Reservation, Toilets, or Insurance ($67) to be collected as a "Pass Through" fee. While the PDGA provides insurance for every event, but if a course requires a certificate of insurance (COI), then the TD is required to purchase one, which we did for the event. Standard Greens Fees for Eagles Crossing are $29 for Wild Times and $39 for the Championship Course. If you came to Eagles Crossing to play 3 rounds on these courses, you would either pay $97 or $107 to play the courses. We were able to discount this to $67 and cover the costs of the toilets for the players.
"Net Entry Fees" is the remaining entry fee that goes to player packs, payout, etc. The total entry was $150, pass through fees were $75, so the net is $75. 100% of the net entry fees were added to player packs to give you guys the $150 value player pack described in my email. Since the entire "Net Entry" was used for Player Packs, nothing from entry fees was added to payouts. We are adding $5,150 to merchandise payout, and none of that came from player entries.
Additionally, we are adding the $250 in sponsorship items, trophies valued at $100 or $75 each, and over $1,000 in CTP prizes to the divisions, which is an additional $6,500 in value or $21/player in additional items.
To summarize, your $150 entry fee covers:
- $97 or $107 in greens fees at Eagles Crossing
- $4 in payment to PDGA
- $4 in payment to the Event Staff
- $150 player pack
- $18.50 in merchandise payout
- $21/player in trophies, CTP prizes, etc
- $294.50 - $304.50 total value per amateur
The summary above does not include the time spent playing the tournament and the experience you'll receive for showing up. There are thousands of dollars in behind the scenes costs that you guys don't see, and $4/player that the PDGA allows to take is nowhere near enough to cover everything. Every single person on staff is also taking off work and traveling to this event.
I appreciate the time and money people are spending to come to this event and it's my goal to make this the best event you've ever played. I hope that you feel like the tournament was worth your time, energy, and travel.
