There was plenty of time to register and numerous reminders about registration. Everyone was offered the same opportunity to register. What you call "bullshit", I call following through with your word and abiding by the rules that were set in place. Kinda crazy these days, I know. The nerve of some people to actually do what they say!!!
Perhaps some people thought that the event organizers were not serious about the rules they had in place for registration and thought that they would bend when it was obvious that there was not going to be large registration numbers. Well, I guess those people were wrong...
