Players should play in the divisions based on their skill level. Open division is meant for good experienced players (MA1 or better), Advanced for experienced players (MA2, MA3), Recreational is meant for newer players (MA4).

I would say that if you can average near
par 54 or better when playing the short to short layout, at Newport News Park, then you do not belong in the Rec division for this tournament. I would encourage players to play in the division they feel they best fit based on that. Will someone purposely sandbag? Maybe
