Hidey Ho neighbors.
Davis is in play tonight. First rated round since December 23, 2023! I guess it's only been a year and a half, but feels much longer. As a reminder the short "red" teepads play as holes 1-9, and the longer "blue" pads play as 10-18. So regardless of your starting hole, you play the long teepad on 1 (hole 10) after playing the short pad on 9. And after playing the long pad for hole 18, you switch back to the short pads for 1 again. It'll make sense eventually. The mando on 8/17 will not be in play for now. But fair warning that you probably don't want your disc landing in the trash hidden in that tall grass and brush to the right of the pin, courtesy of the previous tenants.
You'll also notice we're gonna play the majority of our remaining summer rounds at Davis. It still needs some cleanup, both trash and grass/brush clearing. So if you want to contribute to the cause, please spend some time to help out. Without volunteers, it's not getting any better, and eventually people will give up on the course and the forest dwellers will move right back in.
FIREWEED MEADOWS TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND! It's a great course. Ask me. I highly recommend.
Week 3 Recap:
Killian and Dan shared the lead in A pool again in the 6 player field. Cassidy played his way into third place. Fun fact: all the "mp40" guys beat (or tied) out the 2 younguns in A pool with Morgan tying for 4th. Go team old guys!
The Kid fresh off his MA2 states victory took down B pool. By the end of this year we'll be calling him a B pool sandbagger. Jeremy Ratliff grabbed second place. B pool was the largest with 9 players.
And Nolan "van guy" Brown easily won C pool. He's going to be in B pool soon it looks like. "Not the kid" Haviland took second place beating out 2 other players.
Hole 8 was the easiest (2.63) out there with 53% of you getting the birdie. Holes 14 an 9 also play well under par at 2.74 and 2.84. Hole 17 also got a lot of birdies (7) but gave out 5 bogies and one double bogey.
4 as usual was the hardest out there. Zero birdies and less than half the field able to manage par. 11 people, 58% of the field took bogey, and 3 of ya'll had a double. If it was a par 4, it would have been the third easiest hole. Maybe it just needs a shorter pin location?
Ignoring 4, holes 5, 7, 16, 15 all played about a third of a stroke or more over par. Hole 15 almost a half stroke over par. Tyler Rus snagged the solo bird on 7 while Killian was the only one to birdie 15.
Naz tracked all his stats. Looks like he hit a couple of nice C2s. Tho he was only on the fairway for 50% of his drives? Come on man. Gotta do better.
