Honestly Nick it's because I think 12 is a push for the bulk of the field in those divisions at short. I thought by adding long on that hole it would add some separation in the field. 18 I want a chase to have a chance to get a stroke on the last hole of an event. Again I thought this change gave that as well. It's not a matter of just adding some longs, I want to add a difference to the field with a change. It's more work for me honestly lol so I want them to matter. Finally I made a mistake a year or so ago with the MA40 pads in an event so I said from then on MA40 and MA2 would play the same pads in our events. Hope this helps.
