FAQ — Why is Brooktrails Open a C tier event with A-tier Payouts?
The Brooktrails Open tournament continues to be an event created by players for players prioritizing high value payouts to our players. In an effort to meet this promise, the event has been assigned a general C-tier sanctioning but is offering A-tier payouts resulting in the following:
C-tier allows organizers to participate so they don’t need to be paid = more value to players
C-tier has lower PDGA fees than A or B tier = more value for players
C-tier awards lower points factor (50% of A-tier) = less points towards PDGA World Championships and PDGA Points Leader Awards
A-tier payout to pros — 100% of Net Entry Fee plus min. of $3,000 cash (expect more) = more value for pros
A-tier payout to ams — 110% of Net Entry Fee in Amateur purse (prizes + player packs) = more value for ams
