Week 8 of the Deer Lakes League was packed with fireworks from the top contenders, even if the ace and birdie pots managed to dodge a winner yet again. In the Open Division, Chris Lachendro lit it up, shredding the course with a blazing -8 (58) to snag the win and an $18 payday. Over in Advanced, Matt Malcolm was a man on a mission, dropping a smooth -7 (59) for the top spot, pocketing $19, and cashing in on the MPO/MA1 CTP for another $9 — a total takeover.
Reegan Hanley kept his name in the spotlight in Intermediate, grinding out a clutch -3 (63) to grab $17 and another victory. And in Recreational, Brett Say stayed hot, navigating the track for a solid +3 (69) to lock down another win and $14. The other CTP went to Vincent Maiorana, who walked away $5 richer.
The ace may still be hiding, but the competition is heating up — and the winners are making sure everyone knows it.
