Ladies and gentlemen, sports fans and friends, we have all made it to the final week. The Goon is getting put to bed for both leagues this week. Wednesday Night Dubs at the Goon tonight! Looks like the final 12 is set, but that doesn't mean you should skip. Dubs aces have been putting out all winter long. Check in with Scott by 6:15.
Saturday singles will also be at the Goon this week. Assuming it continues to melt out, we're going with OB Extravaganza! Tell all your friends. Basically all paved paths and beyond will be OB. For hole 4/13 the path will play as an OB river. Hole 7/16 will have a mando left forcing you towards OB (tree is already marked with pink ribbon). Holes 2, 15, 18 will all likely play as islands which will double as OB for the alternate baskets that share the same teepad. I'll finalize the layout Friday night and make a "caddy book" post.
Week 9 Recap:
The Scott Groves took down the win for the Kincaid blue baskets. I personally found them very challenging but Scott proved even 40 years of life can't slow down his rocket arm. Overhands, backhands, and solid putting by the newest MP40 inductee. Scott shot -6 including the birdie on hole 18, sinking the putt from maybe 45-50 feet I'd guess. Travis took time out from marathon training to jog into 2nd place at -4. And another MP40 hero showing that old dudes can still chuck plastic on the longer layouts, Morgan took solo third with his -3.
B Pool was led by Robin, Rus, and Cory with 1 stroke separating each of them for 1st, 2nd, and third. Robin shot -1, and got the birdie on the very tough hole 17 which was matched by only 3 others. Tyler took one birdie and one bogey to finish at even. And Cory shot one over but was the only person to birdie hole 15.
Scott Haviland took down C pool for the second time. He won by 3 strokes over Eli and Jeremy who tied for 2nd. Thus all of them at least got a little Venmo action on Sunday. Eli and Jeremy both got a single birdie, and Scott didn't get any but stayed away from the bogey strokes a bit better than the other fellas.
Hole 1 was the easiest out there at .35 under par with the most birdies at 8. Hole 14 was 2nd at -.26, followed by holes 3 and 4 both at .17 under par. Hole 1 was the only one to play the whole day without a bogey. Thank you 1!
Hole 10 was a monster out there at .61 strokes over par and zero birdies. It gave us 12 bogeys and 1 double. Holes 6 and 18 were equally hard at .57 strokes over par. Hole 6 handed out zero birdies and 18 had the one by The Scott Groves. 8 and 12 both gave out 3 double bogeys.
Hole 5 handed out a single birdie to Morgan. Keegan was the only birdie on 7 (nice!), Travis and James were the only birdies on 8 (cuz I apparently cant make uphill putts), Groves solo birdied 9, hole 12 only handed out birdies to my card (Travis, James, and myself), Groves/Naz/Jake all birdies 13, and James and Travis were the only two to get 16. All worth the callout as Blues are indeed much more difficult to score on than yellows. So great birdies to all.
See ya'll at the Goon this week.
