Yessireebob, we're heading to Kincaid this weekend for our first round of the blue baskets. Get signed up ASAP to get in on this momentous occasion. WND will also be at Kincaid tonight. Possibly a round of pro pads to blue baskets. Not a likely possibility, but still.
Series Points Race:
After consideration of only the top 7 rounds, the race for the top is tightening up. Dan 265, James 257, Black 242, Morgan 227, and Sramek 202. James and I are currently queuing up to drop 20 point rounds, so if I can just keep matching him the next 2 rounds, I should be good! Unless Black turns on the jets again. Stay tuned!
Week 8 Recap:
Some dude named Dan took top honors for the week. Also cleared out the Acepot to the tune of $225.25 on hole 5. But fear not, league rules kept $50 in the pot for the next guy. Maybe I can grab the rest of it this weekend. James rolled in right behind at -9 to get 2nd in A pool/overall. Doesn't look like he got any turkeys, just spread out the birdie love all throughout. He was one of only 2 people to get the bird on hole 3 (Cory was the other), and also hole 10 (Black was the other). Killian shot -7 for 3rd place and was the only one to birdie hole 19. Flex forehand?
B pool was led by Weslee and his -6. He had a tough go on the yellow baskets but cleaned up on the reds. He was 1 of 3 who got the birdie on hole 12. But someone will need to get the story on his lone bogey (hole 6). Really? Naz snagged 2nd place -3 with one less birdie than Weslee, but a couple more bogeys as well.
C pool was won by Eli by one stoke over Lukas. It's his first solo victory of the series. Eli got 4 birdies to Jeremy's single birdie. However Eli took 3 double bogeys to keep Jeremy (no double bogeys) within striking distance.
For the "new holes", it looks like the island on hole 2 nipped some people in the rear. 6 people took bogey (looking at you Graham), and one unfortunate soul took a double bogey. I'm assuming Black tried to save par from the dropzone and went OB again? Only 6 birdies on the hole compared to 10 in week 6. Hole 19 (6s pad to 7s yellow basket) debuted with a mando and most people seemed to get par. As mentioned, Killian was the only person to get that hole in 2 strokes. There were 4 bogeys. Didn't hear of anyone missing the mando. And hole 20 (8s pad to 9s yellow basket) was a repeat from a prior week. This time it only had 1 birdie compared to the 2 prior. It was the artist formerly known as Frank the Tank. His tee shot was slightly off and he ended up in the pit right behind 9s pad with an awkward lie due to the small shrubs trying to live their best life. But he zinged a great forehand and made a just outside circle putt.
Hole 7 and 18 played the easiest at a half stroke under par. Hole 7 had 11 birdies and 2 bogeys compared to 9 and zero for hole 18. Hole 2 went from one of the easier holes each week to playing OVER par. HAHAHAHAH
Hole 20 played the hardest at .61 over par. There were 8 bogeys and 2 double bogeys. Hole 3 (3.22) played a little harder than 19 (3.17).
Shoutout to Graham for being the only birdie on hole 4.
CONGRATULATIONS to the Purpero and Sramek families for the mini disc golfers they brought into the world!
