You are close, so for FYP you both will tee and essentially you play alternate for each lie and will continue to alternate after every shot until you hole out taking the best score between the two. The abandoning lie comes into play if one of the shots will not best the other, no need to play out a lie that wont produce a better score if that makes sense. For example if you tee off and put in right below the basket for a drop in 2 and your partner proceeds to throw it OB there is no need to play out the shot that went OB, this is mainly for pace of play so we are not playing out a lie that in the end wont end up counting. I hope this helps clarify the format, if not we will be going over all of this prior to everyone's tee time.

Thanks for the info that makes more sense. Are you allowed to abandon a lie more then once per hole? If you do abandon a lie do both players throw from the disc that was kept and then alternate again? Lets say you both drive and one lands in the fairway and one goes OB. If its going to take at least 2 more throws to get to the basket do both players throw from the shot kept then begin alternating again until the hole is completed. Hope that makes sense.
