A quick shoutout to all ya'll committed to stomping down snowy pads and "forgetting" your shovel that day. I mean, someone else always seems to take care of it.
I took a short walk at Kincaid today to get some eyes on the conditions. I think if we can take off the snow layer on the pads, the 40 degree temps and sun should take care of the ice, or at least make the ice soft and easy to take off. Fairways have 4ish inches of crusty snow, but again I think by Saturday even that should melt down a bit and we won't have too many issues with lost discs. I was able to walk down the paths on hole 3 without any issues with the ice, the snow has turned crusty and gave the trail some grip.
I'll go out late this afternoon to work on the pads. If you have time, you can go out before, with, or after me to help out. Springtime pad work consists of taking off the easy stuff and letting the warm weather work on it for you.
They re-groomed their x-country trails, but the grass and dirt is already poking up and I can't imagine they'll be using the trails in another couple days. But for now, stay off their trails as much as you can, otherwise they'll come stomp all over our snowy teepads and make them even more difficult to clean off.
Recap for week 6 tomorrow.
