Hey everyone,
Lots of messages. Some positive, some negative, some neutral. I understand and empathize with them all. You may not want my empathy, but I am frustrated at the complexity of the situation as well.
So you know this is a breakdown of what occurred on hole 13 to the best of my knowledge:
1) road hazard(as PDGA live stated/caddy book did not state) but sidewalk and beyond OB(PDGA live did not state/caddy book did not state): MANY cards did this before and after a live message was sent (occured around 11 holes played)
2) Road OB(not in PDGA/in caddy book), Sidewalk and beyond OB(not in PDGA/not in caddy book) multiple cards did this and this is how it SHOULD be....as it was in round 1 for golds/blacks
3) Road hazard(PDGA live stated/not in caddy book), Side and beyond in bounds (PDGA live implied/not in caddie book): at least 2 cards did this.
It's complicated and a super annoying mistake. Any justification/decision would involve penalizing A LOT of people, so PDGA advised(and I agreed) to do which is least biased and essentially knull the hole by applying par to everyone. Opinions on that decision are understandable and vary, but as the TD, one had to be made and that was it.
Just so you know, there is an event satisfaction survey after the event. Use it as you see the best fit.
